Introduction to RNA-Seq Data Analysis Workshop

We are accepting applications for LeedsOmics Introduction to RNA-Seq Data Analysis Workshop.

The workshop details are as follows:

Title: LeedsOmics Introduction to RNA-Seq Data Analysis Workshop
Date: 26th and 27th June 2019
Deadline for registration: Monday May 27th 2019
This workshop is open to staff and students from University of Leeds and the places are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lunch is provided. Please specify the dietary restrictions in the registration form.
The standard registration fee would be £200. If your group leader has a LeedsOmics costing ongoing grant, the discounted fee would be £150. Please check with your group leader before selecting.
Prerequisite: You need to have a good understanding of basic Linux command lines before attending the workshop. Please refer to the IT training courses “HPC 0: Introduction to Linux for HPC” on the link (http://arc.leeds.ac.uk/training/introduction-to-unix-for-hpc/) or “HPC 6: HPC for Life Sciences and Bioinformatics” on the link (https://arc.leeds.ac.uk/training/hpc-for-life-sciences-and-bioinformatics/) if you need to learn the usage of Linux command lines.
The content of the workshop will cover:
1. Quality control of raw data
2. Align the processed data to the reference genome
3. Count reads to quantify the gene expression
4. Carry out the statistical analysis to identify the differential gene expression among groups of samples
5. Visualization of the data
